About the Course

After completion of the course, participants will be able to:

• Understand the developmental factors of the client related to mental health issues.
• Communicate effectively with clients and develop a therapeutic relationship.
• Have an overview of the major psychological illnesses which will facilitate them to make a proper diagnosis of the cases under consideration
• Have adequate knowledge in compassion-focused cognitive behaviour therapy and to apply it to the psychological illnesses and also to the mental distress of clients in non clinical settings
• Handle competently individual cases following compassion-focused cognitive behaviour therapy
• Distinguish normal sexuality from deviant sexuality, sexual identity from gender identity; they will also be able to identify sexuality related dysfunctions, gender identity related disorders and sexually transmitted diseases causing distress
• Have proper understanding of the intricacies of couple relationship, and they will be equipped with facilitating the couples to promote healthy couple relationship, prevent couple disharmony and resolve couple conflicts
• Know various dimensions of family transactions, and they will be competent enough to facilitate the dysfunctional families for transformation to functional families
• Handle competently psychological issues of various kinds of groups from a psychotherapeutic approach
• Generate insights among the clients about the ethical and legal issues adversely affecting their mental health, and facilitate the clients in exploring the appropriate ways of resolving them

Organization
• Participants opting for private practice, after completion of the course as Psychological Counsellor/Psychotherapist/Mental Health Consultant for Individual/ Couple/Group/Family therapy will be provided with the opportunity of working in collaboration with renowned Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists and Psychotherapists.
• Classes will be held from 5pm to 8pm on weekdays and weekends.
• Any Candidate, of any age, completing Under Graduate Course (of at least 3 Years duration) from any recognized university or institution can apply; however, preference will be given to candidates having Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology/ Master’s Degree in Psychology/ P.G. Diploma in Counselling / P.G. Diploma in Psychotherapy/ Certificate course in Counselling/Psychotherapy.
